# Validate fields before adding a new record - possible?

I would like to know how that can be possible to validate fields edited by a user before adding a new record.  
Like is this field is empty and this one, the next one has to be \> X .

Is anyone using a good workaround for this at the moment? Embedding forms from another platform perhaps?
